The Kunsthof is neither a gallery nor a public space. It‘s in-between. It‘s separate from the street and looks like an island with its gravel ground. An enclosed space defining a specific social situation, the island is a classical model of a huis clos (isolated). Each participant will concentrate on a collaboration or on the making of a work in relation to a specific attributed object or the notion of it - grill, palm tree, pool and flag - These objects convey the idea of exoticism, summer, wealth and what could eventually belong to the ideal open-air studio. The medium the participants will work with has no importance. Once the exhibition opens, it becomes a public exhibition space for 3 weeks. The island is no more an island, the space is connected with its context.
